• Design advice is sought for the Toyoko Inn economy hotel proposed for a quarter-block site at the northeast corner of Southwest Third Avenue and Oak Street. The scope of the project has grown since last year, when a pre-application conference was held for a 19-story, 486-room building. The applicant is Shuma Tei of Toyoko Inn Architect Co. Ltd., based in Tokyo, and the owner is Toyoko Inn Portland LLC, of which the sole member is Chicago-based Toyoko Inn USA Inc.

• Early assistance is sought for a two-story, 18-unit apartment building on a lot at 7438 N. Oswego Ave. The building will be designed to community design standards. The applicant is Thomas Fallon of Benner Stange Associates Architects Inc., and the owners are Sam and Gordana Sarich.

• Early assistance is sought for a plan to provide individual addresses for each of Oregon Health & Science University鈥檚 buildings at its Marquam Hill campus, at the request of Portland Fire & Rescue. According to the application, 鈥淧reliminary work has been identified as all of the signage, type and size and locations to meet these requirements.鈥� The applicant is Lori Kellow of Ankrom Moisan Architects, and the owner is the Oregon State Board of Higher Education.

• A pre-permit zoning plan check is sought for a two-duplex development at 1634 S.E. 50th Ave. The property is currently under review for land division for a split into four parcels, and the application is for the duplex at the property鈥檚 west corner. The applicant is Jill Cropp of Studio Cropp Architecture, and the owners are Bluestone Homes Inc., Richard and Dawn Kassebaum.

• A pre-permit zoning plan check is sought for a three-story, 18-unit affordable housing building at 1408 N. Kilpatrick St. The structure is part of a two-building, 30-unit affordable housing development. The applicant is Ray Culi of R&B Design Studio, and the owner is Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East.
