Building permits issued for June 17-23

• A $1,200,000 alteration permit was issued for a tenant improvement for offices at 5234 N.E. Sandy Blvd. The applicant is Jack Miller of MCA Architects, the contractor is COR Construction Inc., and the owner is Ron Rothert Insurance Inc.

Multiple new construction and alteration permits were issued for work at the Oregon Zoo, at 4001 S.W. Canyon Road, including:

• $10,876,457 for a Polar Bear Holding Building, a single-story precast concrete structure with a metal roof deck that will include holding facilities for polar bears, associated support functions, and demonstration space for visitors
• $8,290,425 for a Primate Holding Building, a single-story precast concrete structure with holding facilities for chimpanzees, including an on-exhibit day room, support functions and viewing area
• $1,319,820 for a single-story cafe building with a wooden truss roof
• $649,184 for a Life Support System Building, a single-story concrete block structure for housing filtration and pump equipment for the polar bear saltwater pool systems
• $357,000 for a prefabricated metal storage building
• Three permits with a combined value of $1,192,598 for three separate polar bear pool and cave habitat viewing shelters
• $125,000 for new slab and outdoors stair tower at the Red Ape Reserve
• $32,000 for improvements to an existing rhinoceros viewing shelter
• $15,000 for improvements to an existing polar bear viewing shelter

The applicant is Gregg Leicester of Philadelphia-based CLR Design, Inc., the contractor is Lease Crutcher Lewis, and the owner is Metro.

Building permit intakes for June 17-23

• A $1,428,867 alteration permit is under review for a tenant improvement at a commercial mixed-use building at 555 N.W. 12th Ave. The project will include interior demolition and construction of new partition walls to create a new kitchen, seating area, stage, green room, and ticket room. The applicants are Laurie Simpson of Connect Architecture and Mo Steele LLC, and the owners are the trusts of Leonard and Laura Di Gregorio; the primary contractor is out to bid.

Facility permits issued for June 17-23

• A $1,058,251 alteration permit was issued on deferred submittal for aluminum composite metal panels on levels one, 14 and 15 of the Portland Building at 1120 S.W. Fifth Ave. The applicant is Jacob Dorfler of Streimer Sheet Metal Works, Inc., the contractor is Balfour Beatty Construction, and the owner is the city of Portland. A $1,000,000 mechanical alteration permit was also issued for the project; the contractor is JH Kelly.

• A $5,000,0000 alteration permit was issued for a Concourse C deplaning level Phase 2 tenant improvement at Portland International Airport. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the contractor is Hoffman Skanska LLC, and the owner is the Port of Portland.

• A $3,582,646 alteration permit was issued for improvements to Jackson Middle School at 10625 S.W. 35th Ave. The applicant is Nicholas Sukkau of owner Portland Public Schools, and the contractor is 2KG Contractors Inc. A $381,987 mechanical alteration permit was also issued for the project; the contractor is Robert Lloyd Sheet Metal Inc.

• A $905,000 mechanical alteration permit was issued for upper floor mechanical work being conducted as part of a renovation of the Oregon Convention Center at 777 N.E. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. The applicant is Brent Shelby of owner Metro, and the contractor is Heinz Mechanical Contractors.

Facility permit intakes for June 17-23

• A $1,411,304 alteration permit is under review for a fourth-floor surgical remodel at Providence Portland Medical Center at 4805 N.E. Glisan St. The applicant is Joe Webb of owner Providence Health Services – Oregon, and the contractor is Andersen Construction Co.

• A $2,000,000 alteration permit is under review for the removal and replacement of two escalators and other work on Concourse D of Portland International Airport. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the contractor is Hoffman Skanska LLC, and the owner is the Port of Portland.

• Six alteration permits with a combined value of $3,962,255 are under review for future tenant preparation work on various levels of the Wells Fargo Center at 1300 S.W. Fifth Ave. The applicant is Jake Money of contractor Commercial Contractors Inc., and the owner is Sof-Xi WFP Owner LLC of Greenwich, Connecticut.
