The Portland Housing Bureau has released updates to administrative rules governing the city’s inclusionary zoning program.
The changes were issued July 30 following a public comment period. The administrative rule changes include fixes to reflect city ordinances and state legislation, add definitions of terms, and incorporate feedback from early assistance meetings.
Inclusionary zoning took effect on Feb. 1, 2017. Developers of multifamily buildings with 20 or more units are required to provide a portion of affordable units (ranging from 8 percent to 20 percent) or pay a fee-in-lieu.
