PBS Engineering and Environmental is creating a structural engineering group, the company announced this week. With 250 employees and offices in both Oregon and Washington, PBS plans to add the group to its growing public transportation team. The group’s leader is Hod Wells, who has nearly three decades of experience in structural engineering.
鈥淚 was ready for a new chapter,鈥 Wells stated in a press release. 鈥淧BS provided the challenge of bringing a new service line to the company, and it’s a perfect match with the firm’s existing engineering and environmental capabilities.鈥
The firm doubled in size after acquiring Vancouver, Washington-based HDJ Design Group, which had been collaborating with PBS on the Vancouver waterfront redevelopment project. PBS started in 1982 as a firm dedicated to safety and environmental issues, and now has nine offices across the Northwest providing geotechnical engineering, civil engineering and other services.
