  • Design advice is sought for demolition of a three-story building at 340 N.W. Glisan St. The 110-year-old building, a contributing structure in the New Chinatown/Japantown Historic District, formerly housed the聽Blanchet House of Hospitality. The demolition proposal is being requested based on a section of city code that allows for removal of historic buildings or contributing structures in historic districts in instances when denial of a demolition permit would 鈥渄eprive the owner of all reasonable economic use of the site.鈥 The applicant is Gary Golla of SERA Architects, and the owner is 340 NW Glisan LLC, of which the sole member is Blanchet House of Hospitality.
  • Early assistance is pending for construction of a five-story, 20-unit apartment building at 5106 N. Lombard St. The building would be erected behind an existing 117-year-old residential structure with commercial use. The applicant is Omid Mira of Mirahomes Inc., and the owner is Ardeshir Talebi.
  • Early assistance is sought for redevelopment of a 100-acre site at 6400 S.E. 101st Ave. The development would include several industrial buildings, associated site development and possible trailer parking. The site is comprised of three separate parcels, and is currently used in part by Lakeside Industries. The applicant is Gabriela Frask of Mackenzie and the owner is Jameson Partners LLC, which is managed by Warren Rosenfeld of Calbag Metals and Thomas Walsh.
  • Early assistance is sought for a new industrial building, associated site development and environmental mitigation on the IG2c-zoned portion of the Broadmoor Golf Course property at 3509 N.E. Columbia Blvd. The applicant is Gabriela Frask of Mackenzie, and the owner is Broadmoor Inc.
  • Early assistance is sought for construction of a distribution/freight movement building and site improvements on unimproved parcels zone IG2 at the southeast corner of Northeast 158th Avenue and Airport Way. The applicant is Calvin Fillmore of Meridian, Idaho-based owner Diamond Line Delivery Systems Inc.
  • Early assistance is sought for a four-story mixed-use building with 30 apartment units over ground-floor commercial space at 2425 N.E. Alberta St. A house currently on the site would be demolished. The building would include a shared outdoor space, private outdoor spaces for most units, and no on-site parking. The applicant is Edward Radulescu of EPR Design LLC, and the owner is Dez Development LLC.
  • Early assistance is sought for Cathedral Village, a four-story apartment building with 110 affordable family units at 8614 N. Crawford St. The development, by Related NW and Catholic Charities, was one of nine affordable housing projects announced last month by the city of Portland and Multnomah County. Apartments will range in size from studios to three-bedroom units. The building will also have ground-floor residential services and 48 parking spaces. The applicant is Kristina Hauri of MWA Architects, and the owner is Pacific Equipment Rental Company.
  • Early assistance is pending for renovation of a 103-year-old single-story shop/garage building at 3334 N. Williams Ave. The project will include a new roof and rooftop mechanical units, infill walls and parapets on the north and west facades. The applicant is Jason Bolt of Jones Architecture, and the owner is Will & Ivy LLC.
  • Early assistance is sought for demolition of an existing Pap茅 Portland Ditch Witch building at 7909 N. Upland Drive and construction of a new 25,000-square-foot pre-engineered metal building with new parking. An existing 2,770-square-foot wash bay would remain. The applicant is Colony Weyrauch of CIDA Inc., and the owner is Pap茅 Properties Inc.
  • Early assistance is sought for vacation of two rights-of-way surrounding EC Electric鈥檚 Northwest Portland offices: a portion of Northwest 21st Avenue between Northwest Thurman Street and Highway 30, and the portion of Northwest Upshur Street between Northwest 22nd Avenue and Highway 30. The applicant is Steve Janik of owner EC Real Estate Co.
  • Early assistance is sought for construction of a four-building, approximately 60-unit multifamily development at 6950 N. Maryland Ave. and on an adjacent lot. Each lot will be redeveloped with two separate three-story buildings totaling about 30 maximum units of studios and one-bedroom apartments. The applicant is Sam North of Brett Schulz Architect, and the owner is Matthew Gantz.
  • Early assistance is sought to construct a portion of an approved courtyard to add four parking stalls to 113 S.W. Naito Parkway. The applicant is Sara Ruzomberka of Scott | Edwards Architecture, and the owner is MMI Smith Block LLC.
  • A pre-application conference is pending to discuss reduction of the size of the site of the Wilhelm Funeral Home at 6705 S.E. 14th Ave. The applicant proposes removing both a 0.46-acre parking lot, on Southeast 14th Avenue between Claybourne and Glenwood streets, and a 1.9-acre area on the main part of the funeral site from the conditional use approval associated with the funeral home. A new 26-stall parking area is proposed abutting the existing buildings on the north. The applicant is Richard Benton of owner Portland Memorial Inc.
  • A Type III design review with modifications is sought for the Division 28 Homes, a 10-unit condominium project with ground-floor retail space and 15 below-grade parking spaces at 2865 S.E. Division St. Modifications are requested to the setback and pedestrian standards. The project by Urban Development + Partners went before the Portland Design Commission for design advice in August. The applicant is Vijayeta Davda of Hacker, and the owner is Division 28 LLC of Los Angeles.
