John So has joined Elcon Associates as a project engineer. He has more than 15 years of experience in the rail transit, utility, energy and industrial sectors. His specialization is in design of substations from 15 to 500 kilovolts, including physical layout and relaying, power system modeling and analysis, protection and control, ground grid analysis and studies. So has also performed traction power substation design for third rail, light rail and streetcar projects. He has bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degrees in electrical engineering from Portland State University. He is a licensed professional engineer in Oregon, Washington, California and Arizona.
