Building permits issued for Oct. 5-11, 2020

  • A $600,000 permit was issued to stage equipment and drapery supports at Madison High School, at 2735 N.E. 82nd Ave. Nathan Clark of Fortis Construction is the applicant, and Fortis is the contractor. Portland Public Schools is the owner.
  • An $800,000 permit was issued for decorative metal railings at Legacy Emanuel Hospital and Health Center, at 2835 N. Kerby Ave. The applicant was Jonathan Larson of Andersen Construction, Andersen’s Kevin Larkin is the contractor and Legacy Emanuel is the owner.
  • A $970,000 permit was issued for cold-formed metal framing at Portland International Airport’s Parking Additions and Consolidated Rental Car (PACR) facility, at 7150 N.E. Airport Way. The applicant is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits, the owner is the Port of Portland and J.E. Dunn Construction Co. is the contractor.
  • A $630,000 new construction permit was issued for exterior storefront work at 140 S.W. Columbia St. The applicant is Justin Paull of Andersen Construction, the owner is AM/DRI Columbia LLC of Dallas, Texas, and the contractor is Andersen’s Michael Carrigg.
  • A $1.2 million new construction permit was issued for steel roof joists and girders at Prologis’ Amazon facility, at 9475 N. Horseshoe Ave. The applicant is Nick Jones of Perlo Construction, the owner is Prologis LP of Denver and the contractor is Perlo.

Building permit intakes for Oct. 5-11, 2020

  • An $810,000 permit is being reviewed for tenant improvements for an existing tenant at 401 S.W. Fifth Ave. Work includes new track lighting and interior window glazing on the first floor and a kitchen remodel on the third floor. Ben Deines of ZGF Architects is the applicant, 401 SW 5TH LLC of San Francisco is the owner and Swinerton Builders Inc. is the contractor.
  • A $600,000 alteration permit is under review to replace treated timber piles with steel piles, new dock fenders and a walking surface at 7900 N.W. St. Helens Road. The applicant is John Van Staveren of Pacific Habitat Services, the owner is Northwest Natural Gas Co. and the primary contractor is out to bid.
  • Two $750,000 new construction permits are being reviewed to build a pair of two-story, four-unit apartment buildings at 7928 S.E. Mitchell St. The applicant is Michael Susak of Susak Properties, the owners are Linda and Gary Susak and the contractor is Damir Karin of DK Homes LLC of Portland.
  • A $3.5 million new construction permit is under review for a three-story, 40-unit apartment building with associated site work at 7538 N. Lombard St. Richard Brooks of CIDA Architects Inc. is the applicant and the owners are Bobbie and Patrick McDonald of Milwaukie. No information on a contractor was provided.
  • A $1,180,834 permit is under review for a new one-story pre-engineered metal building using an existing slab on Southeast Long Street. An exact address was not provided. This permit would be shell only. The structure would replace one that was damaged by fire. The applicant is Ryan Flattery of Cascade Studio Architecture, the owner is SNL Investments LLC of Lake Oswego and the contractor is Steel Buildings Unlimited LLC of West Linn.

Facility permits issued for Oct. 5-11, 2020

  • A $9,224,274 permit was issued for building alterations at Kaiser Permanente, at 500 N.E. Multnomah St. Work involves an HVAC upgrade, partial roof demolition for crane access and replacement to the previous condition. Nicole Bekken of Interior Architects PC is the applicant. Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest is the owner. Fortis Construction is the contractor. A separate $7,144,053 mechanical permit was issued at the same location. The applicant and owner were the same as above, and Total Mechanical Inc. is the contractor.
  • A $1.2 million permit was issued for 13th floor tenant improvements at 700 N.E. Multnomah St. Work includes demolishing walls and new walls to create offices, conference rooms, etc. The applicant is Britney Hale of LRS Architects, the owner is AAT Lloyd District LLC of San Diego and Balfour Beatty Construction Co. LLC of Goldsboro, N.C., is the contractor.
  • A $5,041,179 mechanical alteration permit was issued at 3600 N. Interstate Ave. Work involves HVAC upgrades to all floors, installing ductwork, new air handling units, air-cooled chiller, pumps and more. Carl Gabrielson of Anderson Dabrowski Architects is the applicant, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest is the owner and Total Mechanical Inc. of Camas is the contractor.
