Building permits issued for Nov. 16-22, 2020

  • A building permit valued at $2.2 million was issued for exterior and interior alterations at 6635 N. Baltimore Ave. in St. Johns. Tenant improvements will be made for a coffee roaster. A gallery space, entry façade, pedestrian plaza, additional parking and landscaping are also planned. The applicant is Brett Schultz of Brett Schultz Architect P.C. and the owner is Workshop Cathedral Owner LLC of Chicago. The primary contractor is out to bid.
  • A $525,000 permit is under review for tenant improvements at 10301 S.E. Stark St. A partial change of occupancy is requested to create a storage area. Nathan Arnold of Faster Permits is the applicant, Dunson 205 LLC of Portland is the owner and the primary contractor is out to bid.
  • An $800,000 permit was issued for gate, fence and main building construction at 9800 S.E. Powell Blvd. The applicant is Griffin Chard of J.E. Dunn Construction, which is also the contractor. The owner is TriMet.

Building permit intakes for Nov. 16-22, 2020

  • A $1,983,500 permit is under review for a four-story, 27-unit apartment building at 8004 S.W. Capitol Hill Road. Also, a $2,480,192 permit is under review for a four-story, 24-unit apartment building at the same address. The applicant is Jim Toporek of Studio 3 Architecture Inc. in Salem. The owner is Capitol Hill PDX LLC of Portland. The contractor is Frank Stock of WDC Construction LLC in Portland.
  • A $900,000 new construction permit is under review for a three-story, 11-unit apartment building at 824 S.E. Tacoma St. The applicant is Steve Fosler of Fosler Architecture, the owner is Paramount Development Properties LLC of Carlsbad, California, and the primary contractor is out to bid.
  • A $533,484 permit is under review for a two-story industrial building at 4525 N.E. 136th Ave. with parking lot, landscaping, utilities and site improvements. The applicant is Kelli Grover of Firwood Design Group LLC in Troutdale, the owner is N W Investments LLC of Portland and the primary contractor is out to bid.
  • A $2.4 million permit is under review for work at 9420 N.W. St. Helens Road. Plans include a new truck rack emissions control unit, vapor bladder and more. The applicant is Jason Anderson of NW Engineering Inc. The owner is Shore Terminals LLC of San Antonia and the primary contractor is out to bid.

Facility permits issued for Nov. 16-22, 2020

  • A permit valued at $134.2 million was issued for structural and demolition work related to the Portland International Airport’s terminal core project. Zac Horton of Faster Permits is the applicant, the Port of Portland is the owner and Hoffman Skanska LLC of Parsippany, New Jersey, is the contractor.
  • A permit valued at $3.3 million was issued for New Relic tenant improvements at the U.S. Bancorp Tower, 111 S.W. Fifth Ave. Work on the 21st floor includes new walls to create offices, open office areas, conference rooms, dining and break room, wellness room, mother’s room, bathrooms, plumbing, electricity and finishes. The applicant is Emily Phillips of IA Interior Architects, the owner is the Association of Unit Owners of One Eleven Tower Condo and the contractor is Fortis Construction Inc. A separate mechanical permit valued at $400,000 was also issued.
  • A $1.2 million alteration permit was issued for improvements at the Multnomah Athletic Club, 1849 S.W. Salmon St. Work includes basement exercise and conditioning rooms, a weight room, stretching room, new finishes and casework to create a new lobby area. The applicant is Josh Peterson of GBD Architects, the owner is the Multnomah Amateur Athletic Club and Lease Crutcher Lewis LLC is the contractor.
  • A $600,000 permit was issued at 1300 S.W. Fifth Ave., Suite 2050, for tenant improvements to create a reception area, offices, touchdown room and more. The applicant is Connie Hotovec of Gensler Architects, the owner is SOF-XI WFP Owner LLC of Greenwich, Connecticut, and the contractor is R & H Construction Co. A related mechanical permit valued at $123,000 was also issued, with American Heating Inc. serving as contractor.
  • A $2 million permit was issued at 1125 N.W. Couch St. on floors eight to 10 for tenant improvements for M Financial Group. Work includes conference rooms, new walls, plumbing, finishes and electric. The applicant is Chelsey Boreas of GBD Architects, the owner is SPF Brewery Blocks LLC of Portland and the contractor is Swinerton Builders Inc. of San Francisco.
  • A $550,000 mechanical permit was issued for HVAC upgrades at 4380 S. Macadam Ave. Rebecca Fitzsimmons of McKinstry Co. is the applicant; McKinstry is also the contractor. Clarity Ventures RF Portland of Vancouver, British Columbia, is the owner.

Facility permit intakes for Nov. 16-22, 2020

  • An $877,000 permit is under review for a CT scan remodel at Oregon Health and Science University. Work includes remodeling the existing CT scan room and equipment room. The applicant is Ray Person of PKA Architects, the owner is the Oregon State Board of Higher Education and the contractor is Fortis Construction Inc. A separate mechanical permit valued at $104,000 is also under review.
