Noteworthy: The City of Hood River is nationally known as a great place to play and to visit. It also has become a great place to work. As the city and the adjacent Port of Hood River have attracted new breweries, manufacturing plants, restaurants, and other businesses, the city’s Wastewater Treatment Plant was becoming overwhelmed. Under the leadership of city staff, decisions were made to modernize the plant and find solutions for aging infrastructure and obsolete technology. Because of the complexities of the various plant needs and due to staffing needs at the city, Windsor Engineers was brought in as the WWTP Project Administrator to provide Program Management Services. During the past year many projects have been implemented. New industrial permits are in place, a new ordinance has been adopted, some capital projects are being constructed, and others are in design.
