A six-to-seven-story, approximately 166-unit apartment building is proposed as the last development within the Con-way master plan in Portland’s Slabtown neighborhood.
The Portland Bureau of Development Services on May 24 will host a with SERA Architects for the project on Block 292 East. Kurt Schultz, a SERA principal, is the applicant.
The building would be bordered by Northwest Raleigh and Savier streets, as well as Northwest 20th Avenue. Two-story townhomes would be accessible at ground level, and one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments would occupy the upper floors. The proposal calls for an underground garage with 120 parking stalls and a paseo connecting to Saltwood North on the west side.
The master plan for the 17-acre site was adopted in 2012, with a deadline of 2022 for all developments to begin. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the deadline was extended until 2024.
In total, the master plan includes 12 buildings. Three – Freewell, Slabtown Square and Slabtown Savier – are under construction.
A Type III design review hearing is expected for the project.
