Opsis Architecture proudly announces the promotion of Erica Dunn, AIA, CPHC, LEED AP, to principal. Since her start in September 2022, Erica has played a pivotal role in enhancing team dynamics and establishing strong client relationships, showcasing her leadership in both management and design. With over 20 years in architecture, including 13 with a focus on zero-energy projects, Erica is committed to impactful, sustainable community projects. She’s been recognized as a New Buildings Institute (NBI) Senior Fellow, highlighting her leadership in sustainable design. As a PHIUS Certified Consultant, Erica applies passive building principles effectively and has significantly contributed to our firm’s mission and culture.
In her role, Erica exemplifies compassionate leadership, boosting team performance and mentorship. Meanwhile, her zeal for uplifting others defines our firm’s ethos. Beyond Opsis, she mentors BIPOC college students in sustainable design careers through the NBI’s Next Gen program, advocating for industry inclusivity. Opsis looks forward to her continued leadership in creating sustainable, community-enriching spaces.
If you had not chosen your current profession, what profession would you choose and why? Anthropologist — the way humans function in groups is infinitely fascinating.
What was a recent (or favorite) vacation you took? My favorite recent vacation was in Mexico City. It was culturally rich, had all the tacos I could eat and plenty of sunshine!
What do you do when you want to relax? Hot yoga
