An architect and principal at the firm, she will proudly serve as Mackenzie鈥檚 first female architect board member.
Alison takes great pride in being a woman in the architectural profession and is honored to follow in the footsteps of the women who blazed trails in a male-dominated industry. As a leader, she takes responsibility for helping the next generation of women in the field to achieve robust, fulfilling careers. She believes that our communities deserve to be served by a design profession that brings diverse voices to the table.
Alison joined Mackenzie in 2004 and currently leads the firm鈥檚 Ecommerce team. Through the course of her career at Mackenzie, she has led project teams in a variety of market sectors, including retail, commercial, educational, industrial, and public safety facilities.
She has played an important role in several major projects, including as Mackenzie鈥檚 principal-in-charge in the design of a large-scale facility in Kansas for the mass production of lithium-ion EV batteries. This project will be a critical new link in domestic battery production and will employ nearly 4,000 people.
Throughout her time at Mackenzie, Alison has built strong relationships, both as a mentor and in her earlier years as a mentee. She is truly excited to build upon years of success and help take the firm to the next level.

Education: Bachelor of Architecture, University of Oregon
If you had not chosen your current profession, what profession would you choose and why? If I had to choose another profession it would likely be a mechanical engineer. I have always been very interested in building systems and thermal comfort, and even received scholarships in college from ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers).
What was a recent (or favorite) vacation you took? We have been fortunate to take some great vacations together as a family. Last year for spring break we took a trip to Hawaii. One of the most amazing things we saw on the island was Volcanoes National Park. We were not prepared for how cold it was up there, but we ended up with some great sweatshirts as a result!
What do you do when you want to relax? I love to be out in nature, and I love to knit; it is even better when they both happen at the same time. You won鈥檛 catch me without my knitting bag and project; I take them everywhere in case there are moments that need to be filled. It is a great form of meditation and really has helped me learn how to lean into recharging.
