While managing projects, Andrea Stadig appreciates the many hats she wears, from builder and accountant to problem solver and, sometimes, therapist.
鈥淚t’s always new, exciting and different, and I will never know everything,鈥 she said. 鈥淓verybody here is just so innovative, and the diversity of my day-to-day is so rewarding.鈥
Her project portfolio ranges from health care to wind farms, and she’s now working on the Rothko Pavilion project at the Portland Art Museum. The $141 million project will knit together the museum’s two historic buildings with a modern glass plaza.
Recognizing that construction can be noisy, annoying and take up parking, Stadig prioritizes being in the field full time and connecting with community members who work and live around the projects she leads. When Mortenson worked on a recent hospital project located near a school, she invited students for a field trip to tour the job site.
鈥淚’m a huge advocator for how we are bringing up the next generation. We’re trying to give a peek behind the fence for the people around us and also increase awareness of the career opportunities in the industry. I’m focused on building the next generation of builders,鈥 she said.
