Managing principal
Doug Bean & Associates Inc., a Portland-based commercial real estate firm, has named Adam Bean as managing principal. Adam joined the firm in 2018 and brings a diverse background in office, medical/dental, land, and investment real estate transactions. He specializes in landlord and tenant representation, property sales, and strategic market advisory across Oregon and Washington.

Prior to joining the firm, Adam worked in commercial real estate development for a Bellevue, Washington-based firm, gaining experience in project analysis, entitlements, and investment evaluation. He holds broker licenses in both Oregon and Washington and currently serves as the managing broker for the firm鈥檚 Washington operations.

Adam earned his bachelor鈥檚 degree through the Business Leadership Program at the University of Puget Sound and holds a master鈥檚 in real estate development from Portland State University. He is a designated member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) and a member of NAIOP.

In his new role as managing principal, Adam will oversee the firm鈥檚 brokerage, property management, and operational strategy, with a continued focus on delivering value-driven advisory services to clients navigating an evolving commercial real estate landscape.

If you had not chosen your current profession, what profession would you choose and why? I鈥檇 love to say professional golfer, but I was never quite good enough 鈥� and the lifestyle鈥檚 a grind. Realistically, I鈥檇 still be in real estate. I鈥檝e been around it my whole life, and I enjoy how it connects me to Portland. It鈥檚 not abstract; it鈥檚 tied to real places, people, and outcomes. I like being part of something that helps shape the city in a visible, lasting way.

What was a recent (or favorite) vacation you took? I recently took a trip to Bandon Dunes and played all five courses over the span of three days. Needless to say, my feet were sore 鈥� but it was absolutely worth it. It鈥檚 one of the true gems of golf, not just in the U.S. but globally, and we鈥檙e lucky to have it right here in our own backyard. It was an unforgettable experience.
