Alex Cettie has built a distinguished 10-year career in the architecture, engineering and construction industry, advancing from project coordinator to her current role as an owner鈥檚 representative supporting healthcare and public agency clients.

Cettie began her career in Denver, working as a project coordinator for a transportation engineering firm before joining HDR鈥檚 Maintenance Design Group division. She relocated to Vancouver, Washington, to join Otak, where she has progressed to project manager II.

Her most significant achievement involved developing and securing the May 2025 bond for Hoodland Fire District in Welches. Leading procurement efforts, Cettie assembled the full project team and guided the district through evaluating renovation versus new construction options. She identified more than 40 potential funding sources, including successful partnerships with the U.S. Forest Service and negotiations with Clackamas County to secure property at no cost to the district. Despite many community members being on fixed incomes, her efforts garnered 58 percent voter approval.

In 2024, Cettie organized a Mental Health Awareness Discussion Panel for industry professionals, creating what colleagues described as a safe environment for addressing mental health challenges in the construction industry.

Cettie actively mentors emerging professionals, speaking at Portland Community College鈥檚 Workforce Training Center and the Oregon State Career Fair while promoting diversity in construction management.
