Chana Frederick has transformed the construction estimating landscape through four decades of dedicated service to the industry.

Frederick spearheaded a comprehensive overhaul of P&C’s estimating department, implementing cutting-edge software and technology to replace outdated spreadsheet systems. She collaborated with consultants to develop new standards and championed the adoption of tools including Sage and On Screen Takeoff, enabling the company to effectively track and leverage historical data.

Her systematic approach included creating an estimating database and establishing comprehensive processes and procedures to ensure complete scope coverage. Frederick developed training programs for project engineers and managers rotating through the estimating department, enhancing their capabilities in their eventual roles.

Focusing on pre-construction for construction management and design-build projects, Frederick maintains current market pricing databases and provides accurate early conceptual estimates that remain viable throughout the design process. She implemented new bid leveling systems and trained project personnel in bidding assistance, making the company more competitive and precise in its estimates.

A certified professional estimator with lifetime status and member of the American Society of Professional Estimators, Frederick actively mentors industry professionals and participates in community organizations including the Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs. She supports local initiatives through Canstruction food bank events and Rebuilding Together rehabilitation projects.
