Jennifer Eggers has established herself as a leading structural engineer specializing in historic renovation, K-12 education, and higher education projects throughout the Pacific Northwest over her 25-year career.

Eggers brings expertise in seismic resiliency, having helped improve more than 45 schools in the region and providing planning for over 150 schools across Oregon while advocating for the state’s Seismic Rehabilitation Grant Program. Her notable portfolio includes the phased seismic strengthening of Portland’s Union Station and restoration work on Portland’s historic landmarks, including the Portland Sign, Schnitzer Concert Hall and Pittock Mansion.

Since opening Holmes’s Portland office in March 2019, Eggers has demonstrated exceptional leadership by growing the Pacific Northwest team from four members to 35, maintaining strong organizational culture through the COVID-19 pandemic and post-pandemic challenges. She currently serves as regional manager for the Pacific Northwest while simultaneously serving on the Holmes US board of directors.

With degrees in both architecture and engineering, Eggers takes a holistic, interdisciplinary approach to structural design. Her recent work includes leading comprehensive assessments of nearly 100 Portland Public Schools campuses encompassing more than 400 buildings total, developing frameworks that will guide future projects of similar scope and complexity throughout the district.

Eggers mentoring philosophy focuses on leading by example rather than delegation. She refuses to ask her team to undertake a task she wouldn’t personally handle, whether that’s crawling through confined spaces during site inspections or navigating challenging client negotiations.
