Shanna Bookal has emerged as a rising star in the safety industry during her seven-year career. Since joining CBRE in 2022, she has distinguished herself through operational excellence and comprehensive safety expertise.

During her first account assignment in California, Bookal helped prevent a potential fatality, earning recognition for operational excellence in safety. After transitioning to the Nike account in July 2024, she conducted more than 1,200 safety trainings and competency verifications over 10.5 weeks, completing well over half of all safety trainings within six months.

Bookal has pursued extensive professional certifications, becoming a Certified Lead Based Paint Renovator, OSHA Instructor, and IICRC Water Damage Technician while maintaining her Pharmacy Tech license.

Her leadership extends beyond traditional safety roles. Bookal conducted a 60-day gap analysis identifying missing safety components from seven years of operations and led efforts to create or refine standard operating procedures for more than 30 safety protocols. She introduced new contractor safety standards and reformed her company鈥檚 safety committee, launching the 鈥淪afety SafeSpace Series鈥� featuring guest speakers sharing safety insights. She mentors youth in the BIPOC community to become aspiring safety specialists and takes part in 鈥淭rain the Trainer鈥� opportunities.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Bookal served as specimen point of collection manager across two counties, working alongside the Georgia National Guard and volunteer nurses while continuing her health inspection duties. She has volunteered with refugee children around the world as an activities coordinator, has volunteered at Moffitt Cancer Center and with the NAACP.
