Stephanie Carkin has built a distinguished 25-year career in the construction industry through progressive leadership and operational excellence.

Since joining Hydro-Temp Mechanical, Carkin has advanced through increasingly responsible roles including accounting, general business operations, service manager, safety director, human resources, contracts administration and project manager. Her comprehensive experience across all business aspects enabled her to create the company’s safety program and develop most of its operational procedures.

Promoted to vice president in 2014, Carkin has led the company to double its growth through her strategic vision and commitment to continuous improvement. Under her leadership, Hydro-Temp has transformed its workplace culture through the HTM Cares program, integrating recognition initiatives, wellness resources and veteran appreciation.

Carkin is leading the integration of artificial intelligence for operational and safety optimization. Her leadership combines operational excellence with employee well-being initiatives, including proactive mental health and suicide prevention training integration.

Carkin implemented a comprehensive mentorship program at Hydro-Temp. The initiative has empowered employees at all levels, boosting employee engagement and retention.

Her industry involvement includes serving on the MCA Benefit Trust board, HVAC Area 1 Apprenticeship treasury board, and as incoming 2026 chair of the Associated Builders and Contractors board of directors. She serves as vice president of National Association of Women in Construction Portland Chapter #54 in 2026.
