Assistant principal, David Douglas High School
As a career technical education leader, Hill has expanded CTE pathways and increased student access to high-quality, career-connected learning opportunities. She champions innovative approaches to maximize school resources and grant funding, focusing particularly on creating opportunities for historically underrepresented students.
Hill served as the primary contact and collaborator throughout the design of David Douglas High School鈥檚 new 50,000-square-foot CTE Center, which will house 11 different programs. Her leadership ensured student voices remained central to the design process, working directly with architects and planners to create learning environments that align with industry standards while fostering creativity and belonging.
Her approach to student advocacy extends beyond administrative duties. Hill regularly mentored students throughout the CTE Center project, using a 3D building model in her office to show how their ideas translated into actual design solutions.
Hill鈥檚 work has influenced regional conversations about CTE, student engagement, and equity-driven design, with her insights featured at conferences including the Oregon School Boards Association鈥檚 Annual Convention.
鈥淗er vision for the future of CTE connects the dots between the built environment and student opportunity, demonstrating that facilities are not just buildings, but catalysts for equity and achievement,鈥 wrote Mikala Tonges, marketing manager with BRIC Architecture, when nominating Hill for Women of Vision recognition.
