Doug Bean & Associates Inc., a Portland-based commercial real estate brokerage and property management firm, has named Adam Bean president as part of a planned leadership transition focused on continuity and long-term growth.

Adam Bean joined the firm in 2018 and has taken on an increasingly active leadership role across brokerage, property management, and firm operations. His practice includes office, medical and dental, land, and investment real estate, with an emphasis on landlord and tenant representation, acquisitions and dispositions, and advisory services throughout Oregon and Washington.

Prior to joining Doug Bean & Associates, Adam Bean worked in commercial real estate development for a Bellevue, Washington-based firm, gaining experience in project management, entitlement processes, and development coordination. He is licensed in both Oregon and Washington and serves as the firm鈥檚 managing broker for its Washington operations. Adam holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree from the University of Puget Sound and a master鈥檚 degree in real estate development from Portland State University.

As president, Adam Bean will oversee day-to-day leadership of the firm while continuing to work directly with clients. Founder Doug Bean will remain with the firm as Designated Broker; he is actively involved in brokerage activities and client relationships, ensuring continuity as the firm moves into its next phase.

If you had not chosen your current profession, what profession would you choose and why?聽I鈥檇 love to say professional golfer, but I was never quite good enough 鈥� and the lifestyle鈥檚 a grind. Realistically, I鈥檇 still be in real estate. I鈥檝e been around it my whole life, and I enjoy how it connects me to Portland. It鈥檚 not abstract; it鈥檚 tied to real places, people, and outcomes. I like being part of something that helps shape the city in a visible, lasting way.
What was a recent (or favorite) vacation you took?聽I recently took a trip to Bandon Dunes and played all five courses over the span of three days. Needless to say, my feet were sore 鈥� but it was absolutely worth it. It鈥檚 one of the true gems of golf, not just in the U.S. but globally, and we鈥檙e lucky to have it right here in our own backyard. It was an unforgettable experience.
