The Oregon Employment Department today released its employment statistics for the month of August, which noted a 2.3 percent seasonally adjusted drop in construction employment from a month previous. At the end of August the state department estimated that there were 69,000 people employed in construction across the entire state.

Built industry not looking good, IMHO

While I’ve never considered myself an optimist, I’ve had complete confidence over the first half of 2011 that the industry was on track for a slow and gradual recovery. But ever since about two months ago – coincidentally when the U.S. debt issue hit the mainstream media – very little positive news has come out of the industry.
