Governors choose deck truss design for I-5 bridge
The new $340 million Interstate-5 bridge that will cross the Columbia River will have a deck truss design, Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber and Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire jointly announced.
Governors oppose Columbia River Crossing design
Govs. John Kitzhaber of Oregon and Chris Gregoire of Washington on Thursday asked state officials to halt further work on the design for the Columbia River Crossing. The governors instead asked staffers to start work assessing three other bridge types that an expert said were better options.
