With a month to go before the mayoral election for Vancouver, Wash., the two candidates continue to draw distinctions between their stances on the Columbia River Crossing project and whether tolling should be a part of its funding package.

College Station project won鈥檛 be student housing

College Station is a project in flux. For one thing, the building鈥檚 name has changed to The Beacon. The project also has a different size and scope after the original plan to make the project a 15-story tower catering to nearby Portland State University was turned down by both the university and the city.

Metro has predicted that the Portland area will add a million people over the next 20 years. And, with Tuesday鈥檚 report concluding that the metro area can accommodate all of them without expanding the urban growth boundary to allow new development, there鈥檚 an obvious question.
