The Portland Development Commission’s board has approved an agreement with Beam Development for the company to move forward with the renovation of the historic, 96,000-square-foot Convention Plaza building. The PDC has signed memorandums of understanding with three additional development companies to look into projects on other blocks of the Burnside Bridgehead properties.
Tenants upgrading as market recovers
Portland real estate brokers say businesses are choosing to move into higher quality spaces as rents for those spaces continue to drop and concessions packages continue to be sweetened.
PDC stalls decision on future headquarters
The Portland Development Commission board bought an additional two weeks to make a decision on whether to headquarter its operations at its current home, the Mason-Ehrman Building in Old Town, or the future Park Avenue West tower.
