Barb Anderson is principal of Convergence Architecture, a Portland-based firm she joined in 2014. Under her leadership, the practice has grown to 16 people, serving more than 100 public and private clients in the Portland-metro area and beyond. Anderson explained that leading such talented and dedicated people stands as her greatest accomplishment, noting the thrill of building the company from scratch through consistent daily effort.
As principal, Anderson focuses on helping her team realize their full potential by encouraging growth and building individual strengths. She employs what she described as a humble and honest approach, emphasizing transparency and sharing insights to maintain team cohesion.
Anderson is personally involved with St. Johns Bizarre and St. Johns Museum. Convergence Architecture maintains active community engagement in the St. Johns neighborhood, with the firm participating in multiple organizations including St. Johns Boosters, Lester Viles North Portland Project Association, Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs, Oregon Native American Chamber, Business Diversity Institute, and Building Enclosure Council.
