Topic: Economic inequality, the gender wage gap and why we need to tackle it now
Prior to joining the Metro team, Raahi served as faculty at the University of Oregon where she founded the Equity in the Economy Initiative. She has co-authored several ground breaking reports on the experiences of low-wage working Oregonians including 鈥淭he High Cost of Low Wages in Oregon鈥 detailing the economic reality for Oregon鈥檚 low-wage workers in the post-recession economy.

Topic: Actionable ways to address the wage gap in any workplace
Emily Evans is the first Executive Director of the Women鈥檚 Foundation of Oregon 鈥 鈥渁 statewide foundation dedicated to using the power of women鈥檚 collective resources to make Oregon a great place for women, girls, and femmes.鈥 Born and raised in Ashland, OR, Emily spent several years on the East Coast attending school and working at think tanks and philanthropic institutions. She holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree from Bryn Mawr College and a Master鈥檚 in Public Administration from Syracuse University, where she was president of the Women鈥檚 Caucus at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
