Handyman Online, an Internet contractor referral service headquartered in Beaverton with an office in Vancouver, has acquired $24 million in venture capital from four investor groups.
A large portion of the money came from Technology Crossover Ventures, a venture capital firm based in Palo Alto, Calif., which has been a major backer of Handyman Online and a host of other Internet-related companies.
The three other investors are First Analysis Capital, Wingspring and Angel Investors.
“Handyman Online has executed very well in a market space that is notorious for low consumer satisfaction,” said general partner for Tech-nology Cross-over Ventures Tom Newby. “With this capital infusion and our involvement, we hope to help the company accelerate its growth and expand its service offerings to both contractors and homeowners.”
Launched nationwide last fall, Handyman Online is a contractor referral service offered free to homeowners. The contractors are pre-screened by Handyman at local offices established across the United States. The Vancouver office is at 1112 Daniels St.
