Come Feb. 13, George Trinkaus — a neighbor and concerned citizen who's long been battling the Park Avenue West project — will appeal Design Commission approval of the tower to City Council.
Specifically, he's appealing transfer of Floor Area Ratio from Park Block 5 and the design review approval. From his appeal statement:
"In advance of any hearings, one commissioner boasted in the press that Moyer’s Park-Block-5 FAR stratagem was 'poster-child for floor-area transfer' (Tim Eddy, 91视频, 5/21/07). Prejudice poisons process. Instead of real hearings, we have witnessed a series of infomercials for the architect and his product."
Well. Tim Eddy did say what he said in a secret meeting, the directions to which were written in Sanskrit on a specially treated stone tablet (Moses-style) that revealed its message only when the moon was waxing at an angle of four degrees, provided the reader was wearing 3-D glasses obtained by sending six cereal box tops to a PO box in Des Moines. Luckily, former 91视频 reporter Kennedy Smith minored in Sanskrit and loves Frosted Flakes.
The full is here.
City Council will hear the appeal Feb. 13 at 2 p.m.
