Portland construction firm Scheffler Northwest Inc. has been selected as the shoring contractor for the Park Avenue West Tower, a 525-foot high rise located at Southwest Yamhill and Southwest Park Avenue. The firm was contracted for subterranean drilling to create space for a five-level underground parking structure with 320 spaces.
Anticipated to be the third tallest skyscraper in Portland, the tower will be constructed with Scheffler drilling up to 85 feet deep to install 108 soldier piles around the site’s perimeter.
Park Avenue West is a $200 million mixed-use project scheduled for completion in 2010. The completed building will be 33 stories high and feature 474,000 square feet of space, including three levels of retail space, 74 residential units and several levels of office space.
