Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects LLP has announced that partner Gene Sandoval was named the 2009 Distinguished Young Alumni recipient by the University of Oregon Alumni Association. The award recognizes a graduate of UO for professional achievement and dedication to community before his or her 46th birthday.

Sandoval joined ZGF in 1989 and has worked on projects ranging from academic buildings and corporate headquarters to regional transportation systems. His projects include the Port of Portland鈥檚 headquarters office building, the 12W mixed-use development, the Eliot, and the Portland transit mall revitalization. He is working on the UO鈥檚 Academic Learning Center.
