Independence wind firm begins small-scale installations

An alternative energy company in Independence will begin to install small-scale wind turbines around the state over the next few months.

WindEnergy has five turbine installations scheduled for the next few months, according to project manager Jason Bruggeman. The 2.4-kilowatt turbines range between 60 and 90 feet in height, and cost between $20,000 and $25,000.

鈥淥ur major focus is on the Willamette Valley,鈥� Bruggeman said. 鈥淎ll of our systems are tied into the power grid. Our clients will need to be Portland General Electric or Pacific Power 肠耻蝉迟辞尘别谤蝉.鈥�
