Gayle D. Harley has been elected president of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Oregon. ACEC Oregon also has announced its board of directors for 2009-2010, including president-elect Troy Bowers of Murray, Smith & Associates Inc, immediate past president Greg Scholz of R&W Engineering Inc., secretary/treasurer Kay Van Sickel of Otak Inc., vice president Marc Butorac of Kittelson & Associates Inc., vice president Erik Peterson of Peterson Structural Engineers, vice president Dave Simmons of CH2M HILL Inc., vice president Andy Vessely of Cornforth Consultants Inc., and regional vice president Scott Wallace of Kleinfelder Inc.

Harley is president and chief construction officer at OBEC Consulting Engineers, in Eugene. His firm specializes in bridge, civil and roadway transportation engineering. He is a registered professional engineer in Oregon, Washington and California, and he holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Oregon State University.
