TriMet is accepting qualifications from firms for the Willamette River Transit Bridge project. The design-build project will carry rail, bicycle and foot traffic across the river between the Marquam and Ross Island bridges.

Two major rail projects depend on the bridge: the TriMet MAX light-rail line to Milwaukie and the Portland Streetcar eastside loop ().

The bridge would connect the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry area of Southeast Portland with Oregon Health and Science University’s expanded South Waterfront campus.

A preproposal meeting will be held Feb. 17. Proposals are due March 17.
