Sitting in the audience at Tuesday night’s Memorial Coliseum Stakeholder Advisory Committee meeting was rather like watching a game show: the answers were timed, the competition fierce, and the judges could “buzz” in with their votes. Or at least that was the plan.

The SAC was voting on which development proposals for a revamped Memorial Coliseum should move forward to the city’s RFP process. But when it came time to take the vote, the remotes given to the SAC didn’t work. Tension built as Portland Development Commission staff attempted to revive the failed clickers. But a second try also yielded no fruit, so the vote was taken on plain old paper.

On a more serious note, was it just me or did the meeting feel really rushed (or as rushed as a three hour meeting can be)? I could tell the SAC wanted to ask more questions of the potential developers on the panel, and I would have liked to hear more detailed answers.
