REACH Community Development is working with 30 participants from the Constructing Hope Program to make repairs at North Portland homes.

The Constructing Hope program is sponsored by the Irvington Covenant Community Development Center and provides three months of pre-apprenticeship training to people with a legal history, minorities and low income individuals.

REACH will partner with another apprenticeship program later this month to perform free home repairs for senior and disabled homeowners. That program, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Works Local 48’s Candidate Assistance Program, is designed to increase the likelihood of women and minority candidates entering the IBEW
