An April Fool’s prank which reporter tells me has been around a while is the ole .

Apparently, most construction crews don’t often change the default password to change the message on the roadside LED signs. (Is your password “DOTS”? That’s it.) And anyway, if it’s not the default, you can hold Ctrl and Shift and type DIPY, which will reset it to DOTS.

This works for ADDCO portable signs, . I don’t know if everyone gets their roadside signs from the same place, but it’s worth checking to see if this is how yours works.

It’s funny, but it’s obviously really unsafe. So watch your signs today.
