PSU chooses director for sustainable center

Portland State University today chose Robert Costanza to head up its Center for Sustainable Processes and Practices.

The Center for Sustainable Processes and Practices will promote research, teaching and engagement in sustainability issues. The project is funded by a 10-year, $25 million grant from the .

Costanza currently works at the University of Vermont where he is director of the Gund Institute for Ecological Economics and the Gund Professor of Ecological Economics. His work there focuses on linking ecology and economics to sustainability. He will start his new position in September.

The center was previously led by interim director and senior managing fellow John Gordon.
