Portland is looking for bids on a $920,000 project to repave Southeast Clinton Street between 26th and 50th avenues. Bids are due at 2 p.m. May 18.

The project is a preventative maintenance grind-and-overlay project with some base repair in deteriorated spots, said Brian Oberding, project manager with the Bureau of Transportation.

Those digouts make the project take longer than it ordinarily would. Still, it won’t take long, Oberding said – probably two months. Work on the project starts this summer.

Clinton hasn’t been repaved in more than 10 years, he said. In that time, its popularity with cyclists has increased.

During construction, bicycle traffic will be routed to other side streets, Oberding said.
