What happens when you bring together 27 professionals and eight graduate students from around the world to meet in Oregon for five days to talk sustainability?

It’s not The Real World: Green. It’s the Oregon Sustainability Experience, a week long series of programs on sustainable building and sustainable agriculture. Site visits of sustainable developments, workshops, guest speakers and old fashion classroom time will take sustainable professionals through the latest and greatest approaches for making a city a greener place. It takes place from July 19 to July 23.

The only problem is…this thing is not cheap. It’s between $1,450 and $3,900 per person and limited to 35 participants. However, Green Building Services is offering a scholarship for the Sustainable Urban Built Environments part of the program to one community college professor and one K-12 teacher.

To apply for a GBS scholarship, community college professors and K-12 instructors can follow the ‘Register Now’ link at and respond to the brief set of questions. Applicants should note in their response that they are applying for the GBS Scholarship. All applications must be received by June 18.
