Have trouble finding the story you want? Try some of these search tips.

Search terms: Enter the words you think would be included in the story. Words that appear in the story headline will give you the best results. Also, try using Boolean operators:

• AND: This Boolean operator is automatically inserted between words in searches for two or more words. It will return only stories that contain all of the words in the search field. You do not have to include it in a search. Example: LEED AND Portland AND buildings.

• Quotes: Use quotes to find the exact words in exact order in stories. Example: A search for “Integrated Project Delivery” in quotes will return stories that include the term Integrated Project Delivery, while a search for Integrated Project Delivery without quotes will return all stories that include the words “integrated,” “project” and “delivery,” but not necessarily in that order.

• OR: Use this Boolean operator to find any of the terms listed in a search query. You have to type OR in all caps. Example: A search for “builders OR building OR contractors OR construction” will return results with any of those terms, but not necessarily all of them.
• Excluding terms: To exclude a word or term from search results, attach a minus sign immediately before it.Example: A search for “LEED buildings -937″ will return stories that include the terms”LEED” and “buildings” but not “937.”Learn more about .

Date: Narrow the date range to the days you think the story first appeared online. Use the MM/DD/YYYY format.

Category: The 91ÊÓƵ categorizes all stories usually by the single subject the story fits best or by the feature of the website in which that story belongs. Select a category get results only from stories in that category.

Sort order: Select a sort order to arrange the results of your search:

• Date Descending will order the most recent or newest results at the top.
• Date Ascending will order the least recent or oldest results at the top.
• Relevance will order the results that best fit your search query at the top, regardless of date.
