Portland Mayor Sam Adams and regional government Metro President David Bragdon released a joint statement on Thursday outlining their support of new plans for the Columbia River Crossing project.

The Project Sponsors Council, a group of elected officials chosen by the Oregon and Washington governors, plans to vote Monday on several key points on the Interstate 5 bridge project. The votes include the bridge’s width, the Hayden Island interchange design and the project management plan for construction and operation.

Adams and Bragdon stated in a press release that they are in agreement with the joint recommendation by the city of Vancouver, Clark County and transit agencies C-TRAN and TriMet. The recommendation is for a 10-lane bridge and a new design for the Hayden Island interchange.
