The lower deck of the Steel Bridge over the Willamette River in Portland will be closed Thursday morning.
The gates will be closed from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. so that a motor can be replaced. The motor drives the gates that block pedestrian and bicycles from entering onto the lower deck while the deck is raised.
The crossing was closed twice last month, once due a motor failure and once because of a problem with a sensor on the gate.
Update: The motor on the bridge has been replaced, and the bridge has reopened.
