The Daily Journal of Commerce received two awards for outstanding reporting and writing from the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association.

The 91ÊÓƵ received a second-place award for best sports story for which examined the special skills required to design and build skate parks.

The 91ÊÓƵ placed third in enterprise reporting for a series of stories uncovering issues related to a city of Portland stimulus package that officials touted as a way to fast-track construction projects by creating hundreds of new jobs. The series of stories also received recognition from the Society of Professional Journalists, receiving a second-place award for investigative journalism in the SPJ’s Region X Newspaper awards.

Winners were selected by members of the Colorado Newspaper Publishers Association. Awards were presented during the ONPA’s annual conference in Salem.
