While 2010 was a rough year overall for the construction industry, conflicting year-end statistics make it unclear whether the year ended on a high or a low note.

McGraw-Hill Construction and the U.S. Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce reported separately this week that construction spending was down in 2010 from the previous year. However, the in construction spending between 2009 and 2010, while .
