Portland to hold symposium for central city development during next 25 years

When: Tuesday, March 29, from 7:30 – 9:30 a.m.

The economic vitality of Portland’s central city area is the focus of an upcoming session of the Central City 2035 Symposium.

The city decided to start the symposium to address challenges and opportunities in the central city district with an eye toward using the information to help direct how the area should develop during the next 25 years.

The city describes the Tuesday session as an “intense and focused” discussion. The two-hour session will begin at 7:30 a.m. in the Commission Room at the Portland Development Commission, 222 N.W. Fifth Ave. in Portland.

Central City 2035 represents an update of the existing Central City Plan, which was created in 1933. The effort is being conducted in coordination with another effort called River Plan/Central Reach.
