The Associated General Contractors of America recently honored Slayden Construction Group Inc. of Stayton with an AGC/Aon Build America award. Slayden’s work on the Savage Rapids Dam removal was named best environmental renovation project. It involved removing a 90-year-old dam constructed to divert water from the Rogue River to meet local farmers’ irrigation needs. A panel of judges chose the Slayden’s entry from among 115 projects across the nation. Slayden received an AGC/Aon Build America award for the second consecutive year.
