ACE Academy prepares to graduate second class

The Academy for Architecture, Construction and Engineering, is preparing to graduate its second class, 54 students, next month. The public charter school provides a part-time, hands-on high school program for juniors and seniors interested careers in the building industry.

鈥淎s our graduates take their next steps into the larger world of post-secondary learning and work, they are taking with them significant experiences and accomplishments that give them confidence in their own ability,鈥� said ACE Academy Director Mike Taylor.

The school, which opened in 2008, will start next year with 156 students. The operating budget for ACE Academy is $779,000, and the program is funded through partner schools and donations. ACE Academy is located in the Willamette Carpenters Training Center at 4222 N.E. 158th Ave.
