With six stories of office space and five levels of parking, the Providence Office Park II has been uplifting for Portland鈥檚 Hollywood District. The Hollywood Boosters, a business association, has praised the facility for aiding neighborhood job growth and for adding open green space and local artwork to the neighborhood.

The LEED gold project was built on a tight urban site and required close coordination between Providence, the adjacent neighborhoods and project general contractor JE Dunn.

Completing the parking garage on time proved to be one of the project鈥檚 major challenges. The complex design for the garage included a curved parking structure with compounded slopes for both the steel and concrete portions. The permits for the garage, however, were two months behind the original schedule. Through efficiency analyses and work re-sequencing, JE Dunn was able to recover the schedule and complete the project within the owner鈥檚 schedule.
