Scott | Edwards Architecture and SERA Architects were featured in a new book about the growing popularity of pro bono architecture. 鈥淭he Power of Pro Bono,鈥� published by Public Architecture, profiles 40 public-interest projects around the country.

Scott | Edwards Architecture’s Virginia Garcia McMinnville Clinic and SERA Architects’ work for nonprofit 鈥減rogram: education, art, and recreation鈥� were profiled.

鈥淲e highly value the important services that organizations such as Virginia Garcia provide to our communities and appreciate the opportunity to work with them to achieve their goals of creating 聽functional and aesthetically pleasing environments in which to work and serve those in need,鈥� said Sid Scott, principal with Scott | Edwards.聽鈥淔or many organizations, that is a difficult goal to reach without contributions from the design and construction community.鈥�

Virginia Garcia’s McMinnville Center opened in 2006 and provides health care services to low-income people or people without health insurance.

SERA designed a 5,200-square-foot gallery for p:ear, a Portland-based organization serving homeless youth.
